Connor and Marilyn Rhoney of Jamestown, N.Y., announce the engagement of their daughter, Amanda Catherine Rhoney, to Steven Alan Christy Jr., the son of Steven and Angela Christy Sr. of Jamestown, N.Y., and Lucinda Dulmus of Lakewood, N.Y. Miss Rhoney is also the granddaughter of Irma Rhoney of Jamestown, N.Y., and the late Edward Rhoney, the late Floyd Kuhre and the late Richard and Carol Paulus. Her fiance is the grandson of Albert and Betty Christy of Gerry, N.Y., Alice Burch of Ellington, N.Y., Roger Dulmus of Warren, Pa., and Walter and Nina Newhouse of Panama, N.Y.
The bride is a 2006 graduate of Jamestown Community College and a 2008 graduate of the State University at Fredonia with a Bachelor of Science in education. She is employed by the Heritage Group at the Heritage House Daycare and Learning Center as a teacher. She is also employed by Chautauqua Striders as an elementary school tutor. Her fiance is a 2005 graduate of Southwestern Central School. He is employed by Chautauqua Brick Co. as a commercial driver.
A Sept. 3, 2011, wedding is planned at St. John's Roman Catholic Church.
